All individuals have the right to be treated fairly and being mindful of equality and diversity will ensure that all individuals feel valued and respected. In this course we look at what equality and diversity mean and how they affect you. We will look at some of the barriers that can prevent equality from being realised, such as prejudice, stereotyping, discrimination, victimisation and harassment.
There is an explanation of the Equality Act 2010 and the ‘protected characteristics’ that form the basis of the law. We will also explore what employers must do to comply with legislation and guidance, as well as the obligations that employees are under.
