Being person-centred is about focusing care on the needs of the person rather than the needs of the service. As a health and social care professional, it means that we always have the person’s safety, comfort and well-being uppermost in our mind.
Our course aim is to provide you with the correct skills and methods associated with excellent person-centred care, and legislation and principles governing that care. We also aim to provide you with the confidence to produce a person-centred care plan and how to implement to that plan effectively. Finally, we will look at the importance of correct and accurate record keeping in relation to consent.
